Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Meet the Miami Team Behind Flint Chimney Co Miami

The crew working on Miami chimneys has to understand salt air, brutal humidity, and the occasional hurricane-force gust that sends debris where it doesn’t belong. We’ve put together a team that knows this city’s masonry and venting systems from South Beach to Kendall. Four people currently run our Miami trucks, and each one was hired for the same reason: they know what a failing flue looks like before it becomes a house fire. They’re background-checked, uniformed, and they answer to a standard that’s been in place since 2002 under the Garrison Partners family.

Our People

Carlos M. – Lead Technician

Carlos has been sweeping and inspecting chimneys across South Florida for over twelve years. He handles our most involved Level 2 inspections and is the person we send when a homeowner reports a draft problem that doesn’t have an obvious cause. Carlos is certified in camera-based flue inspection and has seen enough failed mortar joints in Coconut Grove to diagnose crown damage from the street. When he isn’t running a camera through a flue, he’s restoring a 1970s Triumph motorcycle that still won’t start half the time. If Carlos tells you your chimney needs work, he’ll show you the footage to prove it before he quotes a dollar.

Dana S. – Senior Installer

Dana leads our repair and relining work, including flue relining (replacing the inner liner that channels smoke safely out of the house). She’s been with Flint Chimney Co Miami for eight years and specializes in HeatShield and DuraFlex installations. Miami’s humidity eats through older clay tile liners faster than most homeowners realize, and Dana has replaced enough of them to know which jobs need a full liner and which just need a repair. She keeps a logbook in her truck for every job she’s ever run, organized by neighborhood. Ask her about your street and she’ll likely remember a chimney she’s already worked on nearby.

Rita P. – Service Coordinator

Rita is the voice on the phone when you call after hours, on weekends, or at 6:30 on a Tuesday morning. Flint Chimney Co Miami keeps a live person answering around the clock, and Rita handles booking, scheduling, and the written price confirmations that go out before any technician steps foot on a roof. She’s from Hialeah and can tell you which weeks our schedule fills fastest as burning season approaches. Rita also shoulders the job of making sure every customer receives the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing before a repair begins. She runs a tight calendar and has zero patience for voicemail trees.

Marcus T. – Apprentice Technician

Marcus is in his second year apprenticing with the crew, working directly under Carlos on inspections and sweeps. He’s already earned his chimney sweep certification and is training on camera inspections and masonry repairs. Marcus grew up in Little Havana and spent a few years doing general construction before deciding to specialize. He’s the one hauling the professional-grade equipment up the ladder on a July afternoon without complaining too much. Give him another year and he’ll be running his own truck. Right now he’s learning the trade the right way: watching, measuring twice, and never cutting a corner because the humidity makes him want to.

One Standard, Every Job

Every technician at Flint Chimney Co Miami works under the same set of rules, what we call the Garrison Code. It’s simple: written price before any work starts, no exceptions. A repair isn’t finished until it carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, which means if a covered repair fails within one full year of the service date, we return at no charge to the homeowner. No argument, no invoice. Hank Delano, Owner, enforces this the same way across the Miami location as he does anywhere the Garrison Partners family operates. The crew doesn’t get paid by commission, so there’s no reason to recommend work you don’t need. That matters in Miami, where a chimney that hasn’t been swept in three years might just need a cleaning, not a rebuild. We specify materials by job, not by margin: DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield. You’ll see the brand names on your written quote, and you can look up what each one is before you approve a thing. That’s the Garrison Standard in action. It’s not a poster on a wall. It’s what Rita puts in writing, what Carlos shows you on camera, and what Dana and Marcus execute on the roof.
